Oorspronkelijk als confectie bedrijf voor nachtjaponnen en stoffengroothandel gebruikt zijn de ruimtes in de Helmstraat 139 veel Antwerpenaars nog bekend van de Kringloopwinkel die hier gevestigd was tot zijn verhuis naar de Kroonstraat. Vandaag is het gebouw de creatieve uitvalbasis van het kunstenaars en design team Christoph Broich en Thomas Engels. De ruimtes worden nu ingevuld met tentoonstellingen, showrooms en mensen met creatieve beroepen. 
In het midden van het gebouw werd het dak van een magazijn verwijdert en een centrale patio gecreëerd die van de aanpalende units omgeven is. De patio is een mooie binnentuin die van de 4 units gebruikt kan worden voor pauzes, meetings en recepties en om gemakkelijk te laden en lossen.

Red Fish Factory is de naam van het industriële gebouw van ontwerpers- en kunstenaars team Christoph Broich en Thomas Engels. Deze voormalige textielfabriek bevindt zich in de opkomende buurt rond de Kerkstraat en dichtbij het fameuze loften complex 'Martougin' met meer dan 40 loftappartementen. In het midden van de site werd het dak van een magazijn verwijderd en een centrale patio gecreëerd waar drie units op uitgeven. De patio is een mooie binnentuin die gebruikt kan worden voor (rook-)pauzes, meetings en recepties, om de fietsen veilig te stallen en om gemakkelijk te laden en te lossen. Het station Antwerpen Centraal ligt op 10 min wandelafstand, met de auto is het 5 min rijden naar de Antwerpse ring, er zijn verschillende tram- en bushaltes in onmidellijke omgeving

for the Red Fish Factory 2010 started with a new printing machine.
big worries, sleepless nights, full manpower, 2 big trucks, 2 fork lifts, paying out a new cable to the municipal nuclear power plant,... and here we are:

Red Fish Factory will be able to do the printing in its own rooms, finally!

the second fork lift pulls from inside

in the patio wew had to deconstruct the machine (depart the upper part from the main part)

the upper part with the electronics and the printing plate had to wait between our plants... fortunatley it didn't snow for some hours!

now we were able to take the second gate

inside we had to turn around...

lifting up the upper part

trying to get it through the second gate diagonally

... and fitting it to the mainpart again on its final place.

JIPPIE ! ! ! champagne with the (red) fish!

The Day After

the filmteam worked till the early morning. Later the team of Pascale, JP, and Wieslaw took out the stage properties, we cared for the cleaning...

.... and everything is empty again

except the patio

• FILMDECOR & FABRIEKSPAND ruime loft in een ex-confectiebedrijf

During the night scenes we couldn't sleep in our own bed. But the VRT booked a nice room in Radisson SAS Astrid Hotel. For us it was a sort of holidays on a 10 minutes walking distance.

the good thing about the Astrid Plaza is when you are inside, you don't have to see it from outside.

and you have a fantastic view on Europes most beautiful railwaystation during breakfast
